Is Goal setting really necessary for your success?
The answer is YES!
A Goal is an observable and measurable end result that has one or more objectives that has to be achieved within a fixed timeframe.
The company you are working with has objectives that they would like to see you achieve.
Are their objectives in line with your goals?
Do you have a plan to work your business?
If so, how is it shaping up?
Do you know what you want to accomplish?
Are you on track to achieve it?
Remember, you can’t manage what you can’t measure.
If you have not set measurable goals for yourself, you will have no way of knowing if you are going to achieve your dreams.
If you really want to succeed in this business, you need to have a plan.
You need to sit down with a pen and paper and work out your goals.
Turn your hopes and dreams into targets with dates attached to them. Take whatever amount of time is necessary for you to spell out, in detail, what your goals are; short term and long term.
Make sure these goals are measurable.
Many people tell me they want to earn $100,000 a year.
So I ask them have you done the math?
Let’s look at an example using that $100,000.
If you want to earn $100,000 a year what do you have to do to achieve it.
You know that there are 52 weeks in a year and 2 weeks will probably be spent on vacation leaving you with 50 weeks to hit your objective. In order to achieve your goal of $100,000 you will need to earn $2,000 per week.
There are 7 days in a week and let’s say you will only work 5 days each week.
That means you must earn $400 per day.
For this exercise let’s assume that each time you recruit someone in your downline that equates to $400.
So if you want to achieve the goal of $100,000 a year you must sign up one person a day.
What happens if you start to fall short of your goals and you are not signing up one new recruit per day?
How long would you work in this manner before you realized that you had to rethink your goals or the manner in which you were working. Hopefully not very long.
If you are not achieving your goals then you need to talk to more qualified prospects, adjust the time you devote to your business or reevaluate your goals. If you are averaging one sign up for every ten prospects you talk to and you are not achieving your goals then you need to talk to more qualified prospects, adjust the time you devote to your business or reevaluate your goals.
Now you can see why it’s important that you keep track of your activity and results.
A goal affects your mindset, and can determine whether you are motivated enough to get up and do the necessary work it will take to achieve them.
If you are focused and determined you will succeed, no matter how lofty they are.
Goals keep you focused, and focused people achieve their dreams.
Setting a goal is like using MapQuest or GPS before you drive to an unknown destination.
You need to know where you are going before you leave or you may waste time and energy getting there, leading to frustration.
Many people join Network Marketing companies with one goal, to make as much money as possible.
The problem is they do not have a clear roadmap of how they are going to get there.
Are you one of those people?
If so, now is the time to sit down with pen and paper and map out your goals.
Start with weekly goals, then add monthly and then yearly up to 5 years is what I recommend.
Some people that join a network marketing company say their 5-year plan is to retire.
Whatever your plan is, you need to have measurable objectives so that you stay on track to achieve that goal.
Many people utilize a vision board for their goals. I have recommended a vision board kit under my Products.
A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific goal or goals.
Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images, words or phrases that affirm your intentions and represent whatever you want to do or have in your life.
A vision board serves to help you stay focused.
No matter what happens during your day, your vision board is a constant reminder of where you intend to be.Visualization is very powerful, on both conscious and subconscious levels.
A vision board can work wonders toward keeping your mind focused on your goals, and your life headed in the direction you choose.
Think of that house you would love to own, maybe it’s a sports car or a picture of a son or daughter with a cap and gown.
Your vision board should be filled with everything you dream about.
The goals that you establish should also include how you will find quality Prospects.
Here are some ideas:
1. Build relationships with those who might provide business counsel or become advisors or mentors.
2. Identify those who might be prospects for your products or services and keep your list current.
3. Build relationships with those who offer products or services that might be of value to you or your clients.
4. Build relationships with those who are influential in your business community.
5. Broaden your exposure in the marketplace and create a positive impression on as many people in your business community as possible.
6. Build relationships with those who might become referral or strategic partners.
Goal setting is also about gaining the knowledge and education necessary.
Make sure that you attend as many training events as possible that your company offers.
Engage in interactive training systems like this one.
Spend time with those people that you have identified as your mentors and leaders in your organization.
You will find that successful people have a clear vision of their goals and how they will attain them.
Take the time, identify your objectives, and make sure they are measurable.
Define and execute your plan so that you join the ranks of success.
PLAN YOUR EXECUTION…EXECUTE YOUR PLAN!
