BRAND YOURSELF, NOT THE COMPANY YOU REPRESENT

The reality of Network Marketing is today you love your company but due to unforeseen circumstances, tomorrow that could change. I learned the hard way not to invest a lot of money building another company’s brand. Years ago, I fell in love with a product and how it helped me and the animals I loved. I invested a lot of money to build what I thought was my business but, in reality, I was actually just building the Company’s brand. I invested an inordinate amount of time and money but had not done any branding of myself.

People buy from people they trust. I was fortunate, when I left that company and moved on to another company, many of my team members followed me because they trusted me. I had always maintained a high level of honesty and integrity and always invested time training and mentoring my teammates.

It was at that moment in time I understood the importance of building your brand.

If you’re new to network marketing or a veteran of the industry you have the same question…

When is the right time to build your brand?
The answer is the same to both…Now!
You have a story to tell and there’s no time like the present to get started.
Remember, network marketing is a people business and people buy from people they like.

The hardest part is getting started. But, once you do, it’s exhilarating.
Everyone has a passion, what’s yours?
That’s a great place to start.

There are many moving parts to building your brand and finding all the tools that work the best won’t break your bank. I’ve worked with many systems and am very comfortable recommending the tools that I use. I’ve already done the trial and error so you won’t have to go through all the pain and money that I went through.

Take the time and review these steps and companies. Afterwards, if you have specific questions about any facet of my recommendations, let’s discuss them. What I don’t want to see is you waste money on tools that you will never utilize.


Here’s an overview of what you need.

  1. Domain Name
  2. Hosting
  3. Website
  4. Autoresponder

I find that if you understand the system, step-by-step, you will have a greater success rate.

STEP 1: Domain Name

First, you will need your own domain name (url). I strongly recommend you register your name.

Just as I did; terrirecknor.com.
Don’t fall into the trap of registering a name that includes your MLM company.
First of all, most companies do not permit their name in any other urls.
Remember, you are building YOUR BRAND, not the Company.

Buy your name.
If you have a common name like John Smith try using your middle initial or middle name.


STEP 2: Hosting

The Hosting company you select is critical for your success. Your business depends on it. I have used Hostmonster for a number of years and it has never failed me. I’m not a technical person so what I appreciate most about them is they have excellent customer service. For me that has been invaluable.

STEP 3: Build your Blog/ Website

I could write a book on this one step alone…but I’ll spare you.
Suffice it to say that through trial and error I am recommending what I used for this Blog.
It’s easy to use and provides a beautiful seamless step-by-step guide to building your WordPress Blog.


STEP 4: Autoresponder

Once you create that beautiful site, you will need an easy way to communicate with your followers or subscribers. Again, I have researched everything available and I agree that “AWeber” is the best-in-class for auto responder. This is the Go To service in the industry.

After you have followed all the steps to Build Your Brand you fall into one of two categories:

1. You are on your way to launching your brand to the world—go you!

2. You are stuck.

3. If you’re stuck…we are here to “unstick” you!

Although the steps above are totally doable you may be one of those people who needs help in pulling it all together. Don’t panic, you’re not alone. I find at this point some people are stuck on what is the essence of their brand or they need the technical help to pull all the pieces together on their website/blog. What I don’t want you to do is pay some outrageous fee to a website designer to help you build your brand. I did that years ago and I swore I would never do it again.

Once I saw what was needed to be done, I promised myself that I would do everything possible to help people who were like me and had difficultly moving forward with their branding. I’m sure your desire and motivation is there just not the technical knowledge. So, let’s work together and make this happen.
